I weigh 227 with clothes on. Guess I can only use this ladder naked
Great deal, this ladder is super light and it's 5 ft size makes it really easy to move around the house. it also includes a storage platform on the backside!
I have a 6ft Fiberglass Louisville (not new) and this one I bought last year. If you are going to use it around the house, by all means get this one. I use both, but the aluminum 5 foot is a lot easier to manuver in small spaces, and easier to carry up stairs.

Agreed.

We also can't use it while carrying a hammer, nails, and a picture to hang.

What do Black Friday/November ladder sales usually look like? I think this price is about as good as it gets, but I think there might have been 6ft ladders with higher load capacities?

Any thoughts between the two as the better value? 1' difference, aluminum vs fiberglass, 12lbs vs 22lbs. I am below load capacity so either will work and leaning towards the aluminum because it is lighter. Only planning to replace an existing aluminum ladder for light occasional use around the house so I am wondering if it is worth the extra $15 on fiberglass for other reasons.

I have both, if you're not using it a lot. Your body with thank you when carrying that Aluminum ladder around!
*Updated info: So I went ahead with the 6' Fiberglass ladder since I already have the 5' Aluminum and 8' Aluminum. I also have another Longer Fiberglass somewhere at work. The size and weight on the fiberglass is manageable and solid! I don't workout and I can still hold it one handed. I still recommend the aluminum if you don't use it often, but if you want something that will seem to last forever for a little added weight and a little pricier, I'd go with the fiberglass! Hope this helps!

You pretty much answered your own question. Fiberglass is more durable and will hold up longer to heavy use. The aluminum is lighter, thinner material and will get bent up and become wobbly quicker.

If I had to pick only one, and there were no physical constraints, I would go for the bigger heavier 6'. However, I already have a 6 foot wooden ladder from HD from the 90s; and if that was the only (smallish) ladder in the house, it would all but guarantee that I would be the only 'being' in the house capable of changing a light bulb in the hallway or above a vanity, etc... So in the interest of empowering others, I got this deal a couple years ago. It is a very nice handy ladder, capable of most indoor tasks. Weighs only as much as a gallon and a half of milk. And, unlike the one I got a couple years ago, this one has the little fold out shelf at the top..

I am going to order this ladder and lose weight. Should take about 8 or 9 months.
