I bought a similar model (without the screen) in 2017 and it completely died on me a few months back. Even though the compressor has a 10-year warranty, its only warranted for parts, not labor. (the coils only have a 5 year warranty so I barely made the cutoff there). There weren't any good sales at the time so we chose to have it repaired. All in all the repair cost about $900, took about 6 weeks and required 4 service calls. The technician told me this is a common issue on the LG refrigerator. Also told me Samsung has its own set of problems, particularly with in-door ice-makers. I will never ever buy an LG refrigerator again.

The power usage on this fridge seems high... I have a larger LG from 2016-2017, and its estimated power usage is only 563kWh:

just to give people a relative cost to this difference. it is about 140kwh. i pay 11c per kwh so this means i would pay $15.40 more per year to own this

11 cent per kwh? Where is that?
I pay 35 cent per kwh which translates to roughly 50$ more per year

I second this. My LG was horrible and it was a top of the line stainless steel model. I got a Samsung last year and it's already having problems.
