Thanks OP, in for 2.
They will work for solar lights. Solar lights usually ship with NiCad batteries though, generally good for more cycles than Li-Ion or Ni-Mh.

Doesn't sound like it base on recent reviews and description of 50% capacity after 1 year (eneloops are typically 85%). I would treat these as high-capacity rechargeable batteries with poor low self discharge.
