I needed two garage door openers and stumbled across this early Black Friday deal at Home Depot, this is a huge windfall for me! 3/4 HP, DC with battery backup, belt drive- basically everything you need in a good GDO except for wifi. But you can add wifi later using any of the generic wifi openers that pop up on SD from time to time, or you can use Genie's semi-proprietary Alladin Connect module (which is admittedly a little pricey, although not bad if you're using it for 2+ doors)

MSRP $198 according to Brickseek, which checks out since right now Home Depot has the 1/2HP chain drive version without battery backup for $159.

I bought two for pickup and there were 39 in stock at my local store.

Extremely easy to install if you're replacing, and also handy already. It looks more intimidating than it is. If existing motor is there, everything is cake.

Moderate to easy if you're going from manual door to motorized.

Super difficult to understand and do the job if you have no sense of wrenches, impact drivers, and the difference between a lag bolt and a standard nut and machine threaded bolt.
Got this back when it was on sale last November (it was $78 back then BTW) and it's sitting in our garage unopened still hahaha. I should just schedule for it to be installed as the current one isn't properly aligned and is noisy as heck upon opening the garage door.
I consider as security feature. laugh out loud You can hear it opening or closing no matter where you are in the house.

This looks like a good deal, but I've been waiting for one of the Chamberlains to come up as they do every so often, even if it's a bit more

My wife and I did it with a similar model in a couple hours. Wasn't too hard. Just have a impact driver ready, it'll make things a lot easier to drive the bolts into the studs.

We never did it before, just followed YouTube videos.

Same for me - $150 install doesn't seem too bad

We had our garage door torsion springs replaced earlier this year and the garage repair guy said that whoever installed the current motor did a terrible job as it's not even fully aligned. One side of the garage door is slightly higher than the other when it's closed but by a margin of an inch maybe... the thing that bothers me most is that the door is extremely noisy when opening or closing. I think it's actually the wheels rubbing/hitting against the rail and I'm thinking this is probably happening because the motor wasn't aligned properly. I'm wondering if we get someone from Home Depot to do the installation/swap for this unit, if it would resolve the noise issues with the door/track.
