New Addition 11/2/2022
20 Foot Cat 7 White is now on sale for $3.56

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasi...B07ZTRM4WT >Temp OOS, may still order

New Addition 11/2/2022
25 Foot Cat 7 Black is now on sale for $3.40

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasi...B07ZTQNQW6 - NLA

Single pack, 15 foot, Cat 7 White $1.91
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasi...B07ZTS47LG NLA
Also available in black for $3.03
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasi...B07ZTR59CJ NLA
For reference, CAT7 Can do 1 gig through 10 gig (including 2.5 gig and 5 gig) up to 328 feet. It may be able to support 25G and 40G over short distances, but is not spec'd for it. At that point, you should be looking at fiber optic, as even CAT8 can only do these speeds at about 100 feet max and is really pushing the limits of what copper cabling can do.

5 Pack, 7 foot, Cat 6, White $5.64 after clipping 5% coupon
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasi...B07RP3ZS6Q Coupon NLA, Now $5.94 > expired, now $13.66
CAT6 can do 1 gig, 2.5 gig, or 5 gig up to 328 feet but 10 gig only to about 180 feet (often less to get full throughput and no loss). If doing 10 gig, better to stick with CAT6A or higher. Even 5 gig is pushing the limits and makes sense to step up to 6A or 7 for that.

10 pack, 14 foot, Cat 5e, Light Grey $8.87
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasi...B07D6M6M5D
CAT5e Can do 1 gig or 2.5 gig up to 328 feet. 5 gig or 10 gig might work at very short distances but not rated for that. Even 2.5 gig is pushing the limits of CAT5e, while it should work fine, makes sense to go up to 6, 6A, or 7 for that.

Clearly all these cables are under the distance limits, just pointing out the differences for those not aware (and since this patch cable may be used along with building wiring, you need to ensure you're under the total distance).

With the amazon basics "clearing out" that is going on, others will likely pop up. Use link https://www.amazon.com/s?k=%22Ama...e-asc-rank to keep an eye out.

Do I really need to say that shipping is free over $25 or with Prime? Well, just in case, I did.

Did Amazon buy SD?
Just paying SD the monthly Shill fee as usual. Been happening for years. Difference today is Bezos is unloading all of his overstocked Basics crap that became backlogged due to the pandemic fiasco.
Amazon will pay anyone signed up for their "associates" program 10% on many items, no different for Slickdeals. SD may get a bonus if they hit certain thresholds (like any other participant in that program), but I don't work for amazon or SD and Bezos isn't holding a gun to my head, this is just people noticing all the deals and sharing them.

I don't think they're overstocked, I think they're discontinuing. Just a guess, seems unlikely that this massive array of items were all stuck on freighters. I think we're going to start seeing a lot of new Amazon brands like they've already done for health care, home furnishings, etc.

The fact that many of these deals are selling out quickly supports that theory somewhat, if they really had a massive glut of inventory I don't think the deals would be dying so quickly.

They appear to be clearing out the amazon basics brand. I suspect rebranding. Having noticed all the SD deals on amazon basics stuff, I decided to look for some CAT 7 or 8 cables and noticed some good deals, and posted them. I'm sure lots of others are doing the same.

It was in the news last year I think, amazon are discontinuing a lot of their branded products. It is very normal for a retailer to do it this way. Too much and not selling collecting dust, make a sale to get rid off them and focus on those selling products. I am just surprised Amazon hasn't done it sooner.

Great! Caught a deal for some cat6 cables earlier, cancelled those orders and snagged some cat7 cables instead. Even better.

If I cut this into smaller and use cat6 ends, would it not be cat7?
I know, silly question!
