Just ordered
the other day if you ordered you get it in 2 days now it's saying 30 days I wanted the scar but the display on this seems better and I don't mind a 16 inch screen. I hope I made a good purchase

I'm hoping legion enters the 18" market. By far my favorite laptop was the m18x r2, because of the screen and SLI cards, I know things have changed now .. But I'm getting the desire to get a 18" and blade is too freaking expensive

So being realistic, how long will a 3000 dollar laptop actually last a gamer before they need to get another 3000 dollar laptop? I have to assume if someone is dropping 3k on a laptop they want to play games on the top tier ultra settings. So how long until this thing can only play new games on medium settings?

Considering Unreal 5 Engine is just starting to really roll out in games, I would imagine that jump is sooner than usual right now. Plus, the new Nvidia 5000 series chips will be rolling out later this year and in the beginning of next year.

Oh, I still need to get a SCAR 17S. I can't believe FN already has a 18.

At this price point and spec not having at least 64 gigs of ram seems silly… is the ram soldered can it be upgraded?

I'd say 5 years at least. Games just don't progress that fast. Maybe 1 or 2 titles in less time, but short of that, you'll be fine for min 5 year

Wowsers... I used to think, just get the best gpu available and forget about the rest. 4090 has been under 2k with omen. (Puke) I've seen the 7i for 2166. Clearly, this CPU smokes that one, but does it matter for gaming? How many FPS more am I getting for 1k?

You seem knowledgeable enough but can't tell by the specs the answer to your own question?
HINT: "SODIMM" . "2X16GB". "DDR5" (not LPDDR5).

I'd agree with this - a 4090 is going to last a long time before being considered not enough for decent settings on new games. My 3060 laptop is going a lot longer than I expected it to as far as handling games, and that wasn't ofc the top tier card.
