Once you get shop card, immediately log back in and turn OFF auto renew. That flags system to send you out marketing communication (normally on monthly flyer) to renew with $20 off for 2024 via in store.

Can the Digital Costco Shop Card be used for Costco online purchases, or only at Costco locations?
EDIT: Answering my own question. According to Costco's website [costco.com]:

A. The online Costco Digital Shop Card terms [costco.com]mention no exclusions for Costco Liquor like the exlusions stated for Self-Checkout, Food Court Kiosks or the Gas Stations, so I assume it can be used there.

I really wish Costco would offer a membership promo which would allow us to sign up at the service desk and receive a physical gift card at the time, instead of trusting that we would receive an e-gift card or coupons a few weeks later, since there are always people who don't receive theirs and have to fight for them. That's usually difficult when dealing with third parties.
Has anyone dealt with these Costco egift cards in the past? Can they be used both online and in-warehouse?
edit: Got my answer - They can be used online and in-store, but not at the gas station, food court, or (annoyingly) the self checkout, where the lines are much shorter or non-existent.
