That Macy's Amex is actually issued by Citibank, not Amex themselves.
Enjoy!

Player 1 and Player 2. The cards serve different purposes. Platinum for 5X on airfare, lounge access, other benefits. Gold 4X on dining and groceries. Hilton Aspire for Diamond status. Delta gold for free checked bags. Marriott Biz for elite nights.

Maybe you can chime in for me, as you seem to know Amex and I am rather new.
I have Platinum and got my other half an authorized user free Gold. Would that free Gold (that's tied to my Platinum) also get 4x dining and groceries you think?
Also, I know apples to oranges, but I love the IHG Premier card from Chase for Platinum status with IHG, for a very low annual fee of $89, and that gets me 1 free anniversary night every year that's basically usable at their most expensive properties as well. And it also gives Global Entry/ TSA/ Nexus every 4 years.
To each their own, but I found Hilton hotels to be pricier when redeeming points, but they sure have better properties than IHG, by and large.
