Great monitor, I use mine daily for work. I don't game with it but I love being able to have multiple documents open on one screen. Mine is mounted to the wall and I have my MacBook pro under it that I leave open for email. perfect setup

Oh God.. this thing is going to get closer to 1K with Samsung EDU/EPP isn't it?

I just picked up an LG 49WQ95C for $999 and thought that was the best compromise from just getting this.

I currently have the 49" AOC AGON UltraWide monitor, and I would love to upgrade to this monitor. HDR is non existent on my monitor, but the added screen real estate is welcomed when I work from home. If you have an UltraWide monitor, you should look into FancyZones. Hopefully this monitor drops to $500-$600 at some point so I can upgrade.

a main reason i would look for a 49" is to be able to use the Picture by Picture PBP thing and have two inputs shown at once. can you confirm on the AOC 49" that if you wanted to do this, you ONLY have the choice of 50/50 screen splitting? I think the LG and Samsung allow you to divide up the screen with more configs when using multiple inputs.

I don't think this will ever drop to that low for new, maybe not even refurb...

It might be wishful thinking, but we'll see. I know one of the older models hit that price range. If it doesn't, I'll just keep my UltraWide and call it a day.

5,120 x 1,440 Pixels is not what 4k is suppose to be, it actually has less pixel than 3840 x 2160. not sure how you can call it 4k when it cannot display full content of 4k.

Not on top of all the newer technology, but I'm assuming Quantum mini LED is not the same as the previous $700 deals on the Samsung Oddyssey with 49" that is VA panels?

From what I have seen, IPS is the minimum color quality I would be willing to buy so that LG 49" was very tempting.
