The only reason it may make sense is hoping they bring some better rewards in future and these points collected now may provide a headstart.
This was really confusing for someone who hasn't redeemed points on Marvel Insider.

10000 Marvel Insider points probably equals about 25 Disney Movie Insider points. But you know how excited people get over codes for 25 DMI points.. Expect the same for these MI points

That being said, the surveys and stuff credit properly and there are a few high value ones if you scroll through the list of activities.
I just did 3 of them that had between 1 and 5 multiple choice type questions for 16,000 points.
Edit: YMMV but under the "get started" section on Marvel Insider, there was also a "complete your profile" activity for 25,000 points and a "what's your favorite villain" one for 1,000 points.
Apparently, I'm now an "elite" member, whatever that means.
