I just installed my Samsung M5 32" screen (~14lbs) & a laptop vesa mount on this on a Costco Tresanti glass top and didn't have any issues.

I bought this last time it was on sale, it's been great. Very good build and if the monitor is heavy then you can adjust the tension hydraulics.
Got 2 plumbing stud plates ($7) & one 2ft 2X4 ($2) at Lowe's, had the Lowes guys cut the 2x4 into 4 6-inch blocks, sandwiched the glass top between one stud plate and 2 of the wood blocks, lined up the other stud plate at the bottom and installed the dual monitor arm using the C clamp installation method.
Sounds like you didn't realize you can adjust the tension on these arms if you have heavier monitors.

It doesn't hold the weight it claims. If you want more heavy duty mount for $5 more that can hold heavier monitors, buy this:

I don't like the ones you need to attach to the desk.
I bought one that stand on the desk. Much better.

This is a pretty similar monitor arm from the same company Except that, for $2 more, it can also stack 27 inch monitors vertically according to the description.

I order that exact one in black yesterday and it should be here today. I had earlier ordered https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2441...ct_details for its weight capacity and longer arms but this one seem like it would work fine but save a little.
I am trying to mount 2x27" specialty monitor that is slightly larger than normal so how far the arms can reach is probably more important than weight capacity. Monitors themselves are only 12lb each.

Has anyone seen a three monitor mount where the middle monitor arm is movable like these are and not fixed?

I've got a 34" curved Dell monitor, are these arms wide enough to position a couple of 24" monitors on either side?

I wanted the same setup so I can put the monitors closer to the front while having the base in the back and what I did was buy a triple mount and an additional dual mount (where the arms attached similarly) and attached the dual mount arms on the center post of the triple mount.

You should be able to do the same by buying an additional single mount.

It's been working great but you have to buy the same companies versions I believe to assure compatibility.

The ones I've seen that have the feature out of the box have pretty expensive but they exist.

Watch the weight limits I guess but my monitors were light compared to what the triple mount can hold.

Here's an example of a product you can do that with : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087BWV232

Looks like a good price with the clipable coupons for both the triple and single for $105 + tax with each arm supporting up to 19.8lbs

You should be able to mount 2 24"monitors on this, but I don't think there will be enough space in the middle for another big screen

Installed this tonight and it is impressively massive. Arms a pretty much completely folded so two 27" can fit close to each other. I also had to loosen the air sprint A LOT just to bring monitor down. There's a USB port on the base, and it comes with cable. The more expensive one has two slots for USB extension but no cables. With my 2 11lb monitors mounted, there's no shaking whatsoever when I type.
I only wish I got this in silver instead of black as my monitors are white.
A word of caution, larger isn't always better. Longer arms require longer cables if you want to feed through the arms. I had to move my PC a bit just to reach.

Can you stack the 27" monitors vertically with this mount?

No, you cannot. Vertical stacking is possible with a different model - something like this one...
