I purchased this saw earlier in the year but did not use/test until months later, and it died on first use. Too late to return so I have an ugly green door stopper now. Don't waste your money on this when you can get a Stihl knockoff gasser on Amazon for about the same, or if you must go electric get an EGO with 5Ah battery.

88% of reviewers recommend it, but I suppose an occasional lemon may exist. The saw has a 5-year warranty, what did they tell you when you tried to get it fixed?

I don't want to sound like a tool snob, and I thought the saw was good, when it worked for the first 15-20 cuts. But it died quickly and suddenly, which meant it was beyond its limits which was nowhere near extreme or extended. And it can have a lifetime warranty but unless it can be used conveniently (like at local HD stores or Costco) it's not worth the time, gas and aggravation. I want better tools (that is why I replaced this junk with an EGO), not better warranty.

Contact ryobi they have a 3 year warranty you don't need to go to HD. Their customer service is great. They can look up warranty via the serial number.
