Attach these to your forehead instead! You'll get better results!

lol. I think I bought something like this from the back of a magazine after seeing Jason Scott Lee use it in a scene in Dragon the Bruce Lee story.

I'm older now, so generally know better than to buy things from the back of magazines nowadays.

But to be fair I think I thought it was for muscle growth and looking at the Amazon page for this product, it looks like it's more targeted for therapy. Maybe that original one back then was supposed to be more for therapy/massage and I didn't realize it. Plus I'm pretty sure I paid way more than $10 for it back then.

--------

edit: after seeing some comments I looked into it more. Here is the clip from the film I was referring to:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipXkHhnC7yY

I think what I was referring to is a EMS machine vs the TENs machine in this thread. So disregard my comment.

Thanks.

FYI 8% gave 1 star and the majority of reviews are Amazon Vine (free product).

Most people easily* walk away from 120VAC, I doubt 5VDC is gonna be a problem.

Now, please don't take this as a review or advocating for the concept but I'm in physical therapy for a torn bicep tendon and the physical therapists use something similar on other patients daily. And this isn't some hippy dippy 'alternative medicine' place, it was approved by both my private insurance and the VA so I assume they are fully accredited and doing things per official guideless. To me in looks like voodoo however all the therapists have their Doctor of Physical Therapy and I don't Wink

I've had dry needling work wonders on my back and shoulder. The real important thing to note is where to attach the pads. You should be familiar with your musculoskeletal structure, to understand where to attach them.

I use a TENS machine at work every day, and just want to say that this is not a true TENS machine, nor would it really do what it says. Would it help with the pain? Maybe. Would it do it do the modes like acupuncture, scraping, etc? No definitely. Would this do more harm than good? Possibly yes if the frequency it is set on is wrong.

I use a cheapie one all the time (can readily be had for this price). They're great!

The key is to use it before your muscle gets all tense. So, I use it after I have a long day of work or lift something stupid. Essentially anything I do to my muscles that I know is going to hurt the next day. I put these over that muscle and it absolutely DOES help.

If I use it on an already-hurt muscle, it can sometimes exacerbated the problem. They're quite effective after a proper stretching routine. My PT uses one on my shoulder after each session along with ice. It's not voodoo science; it flexes your muscle repeatedly. There's benefit to that and it's not some mystical magic. Are there situations where flexing your muscle repeatedly won't help or will make things worse? Yeah. Know your body and know what is making it feel better and what's not and you'll be a TENS expert.

It doesn't take a Phd to know where to put the electrodes, you just move them around until it feels like someone is massaging the correct part of the muscle.

These work. This isn't particularly an amazing deal. Keep 'em away from your spine.

EDIT: Looks like they went up in price and this seems to be a good deal now. I do recommend one.

Also, no sales tax? Is that a PA thing? We don't pay sales tax on clothes, appliances and non-prepared food, maybe that also includes medical equipment.

In what way is this not a true TENS unit? Because it doesn't cost a thousand dollars? Dude, try one of these cheap ones and then try an expensive one and tell me if there's a difference. It's a pretty simple technology.
