You know what they say about opinions. But if you search youtube reviews, you'll find way more positive ones (from more respected reviewers with way more followers) than you'll find negative ones. Here are just a couple:

Same story with the user reviews. Can't please everyone, but most people are more than happy with these speakers, and I don't think you're going to find better for the price.

One thing to note is that this set goes on sale for $200 semi-regularly. So if you don't love the white, there's a pretty good chance you'll be able to catch the black version for only a little more if you're patient. Perhaps Black Friday?

I opted for the larger S83 center speaker for better timbre matching between the front three speakers. I think that's this setup's only drawback. But hard to complain at this price point.

I used a sub from my previous system, and plan on adding Atmos speakers after Christmas.

These [amazon.com]. The S 803 speakers in this kit have connections to use these as up-firing toppers. But I want to experiment with mounting them at the top or my wall, firing down on the listening position.

It will be 5.1.2 for now. I'd love to do 5.2.4 or 7.2.4, but good receivers with that many channels are still out of my budget. I'm hoping they'll come down in couple years and I'll make the upgrade down the road. But my next upgrade, after the Atmos channels, will be a second sub. (Or maybe before the Atmos if a too-good-to-resist deal pops up on Black Friday.)

What type of AVR are you powering the Emotivas?
I'm using the Emotiva BasX A3 to power the T2+, and C2+. The Denon is powering the rears only (B1+). The Emotiva's sounded good with my old AVR (Pioneer VSX 1131) but they sound bigger and punchier with the new gear.

These or Monoprice premium 5.1.2 https://www.monoprice.com/product...EALw_w cB [monoprice.com]
With speakers size tends to make a difference. It's like of like those Bose Acoustimas systems. Those little speakers are pretty amazing because they're so tiny. But they can't nearly make the same type of sound that a larger two way speaker can.

If you have a larger room I'd go with the Jamo's but you'll for sure need a sub. For the price that monoprice system isn't too shabby. Mind you, I haven't heard it, but odds are it'll be fine for movies. So it kind of depends on your room and your expectations.

Also I just noticed that the monoprice speakers are the "dolby heights" which mean they're the type that bounce up off the ceiling. I haven't heard one bounce system that sounds any good. They always just sound like they're coming from the top of the speaker. Just something to note. Fun to experiment with though. Overall the monoprice reviews look good.
