And the lack of Thunderbolt 4 port. Apart from that, this laptop is a gaming beast and surpruss a lot of bigger RTX 3080 TI laptops in gaming, including Legion 7i, Alenware x17 costing way more. Jarrod reviewed this laptop and as per the review, the reason behind that is in this Laptop, GPU power is a higher priority than CPU, which never goes over 70-80 watt even in CPU only workloads. During gaming when CPU and GPU both are being used, most full TGP RTX 3080 Ti laptops can only push 160W, the base TGP to the GPU as CPU is also being used. On the other hand, this Vector series, simply cap the CPU to 45W and then push 170W+ all the time to the RTX 3080 Ti, resulting better gaming performance at higher resolution like 1440p, this laptop has.
Also, the display on this is better than Legion 5 and 7 Pro in terms of picture quality, contrast and color gamut coverage. Legion 5 and 7 Pro only covers around 70% of the Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color gamut vs 100% DCI-P3 and around 90%+ Adobe RGB on this laptop.

As far as I know this is the only deal on a laptop with a full wattage 3080 Ti at/under $2000, thus far. Not to forget the QHD screen and 32GB DDR5 RAM.

Only con I can think of is probably that 65Whr battery.

Most of the reviews including recent reviews are for older models with different CPU or GPU or memory configurations. I cannot find a review for this exact configuration under the listing on Newegg.

review for 12700h/3070ti version, so the one in this post should be a bit faster maybe like 5%

The only concerns I have with this deal is that there are no product reviews for the exact product being offered (that I found). All of the reviews are for "related products" which end up appearing to be the same chassis but for last years model is only required to put out 1080p with a 3080 @ ~130W.

With this thin chassis (0.92") pushing a full power 3080ti, 12th gen i9 and 2560x1440, I would be curious to know how the thermals fare and if there is any throttling.

I did find a review for the GP66 3070ti @ 150W / 1440p / i7 model and slight throttling was reported when tested under 70F ambient conditions.

All that said, I've had good luck with MSI products so far and my old GT72 980m still works. If you find any reviews for this model specifically, please post them.
