Samsung has a pretty bad rep for fridges and dish washers, if you're interested I would reccomend researching.

Yep and ironically LG (the other Korean manufacturer) is usually rated one of the top brands.

I can add microwaves to that list. I've had a complete suite of appliances from Samsung. My dishwasher broke due to some crappy overflow switch. My ice maker always got clogged with crushed ice. And my microwave door latch broke.

Costcos LG convection version is $1099 or $999. Samsung if you live in Northeast has only ONE authorized technician (nice Korean man {sarcasm}). He'll kindly tell you you're complaining and don't need any service and you can afford to get new appliance.

Bought it working great after one week better than my LG I replaced. My 2 years old Samsung washer works faultless.

Stay away from Samsung. After watching the repairman fix our refrigerator, I now fix it every year. The defrost drain always freezes up. It's a known design defect that Samsung doesn't recognize. Luckily, we have YouTube to help us fix stuff.

If there's one thing I've learned about appliances from the internet, it's to never touch anything with the name Samsung on it that isn't a cell phone

My first advice to any new homeowners is always, stay the f away from any Samsung appliances. I used to have every pieces of my appliances Samsung when I purchased a new home 4 years ago, now they are all random brands because every single Samsung pieces had broke down one way or another and Warranty/customers service is non existent. They took planned obsolescence very seriously at Samsung it seem.

My Samsung range lasted six years before breaking down. I think that's good enough because I got a good deal when I purchased it. I could get a comparable Whirlpool range that will probably last 7-8 years, but that would also require me to spend 10-20% more upfront. I rather gamble with Samsung with a lower cost.
