I think this is a pretty poor value, though, and if I were to get something from the Breville line, it would most likely be the Barista Pro (basically the same as this w/o the touchscreen, which I *do* like)
My comment was just to note that at this price point (not including super-autos, bc they almost always use tiny PF for different reasons) we should reasonably expect a larger size. Quite a few machines below this price point (but without the bells and whistles, touchscreen, etc), that use 58mm.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to have one of these, but considering how "premium" these are priced, I have higher expectations. It's probably why I have not gotten one sooner...they are just SO spendy for what they are: mediocre grinders, inability to do any work on them yourself, a few cut corners here and there (tiny PF for one), etc.
I think it's why you see big Breville sales every few months...they KNOW they are overrpriced. Kinda like BBB itself...they know their "normal" prices are 20% less than what you see on the shelf. Thus the everpresent 20% "coupon".
