Ah I really wish I had gotten the pro tech tool kit when it was $40 at frys a few years ago..

I think so, I've mainly used mine for small video game accessory repair, but the occasional kids toy battery replacement with these kits really makes me feel like a pro, worth every penny.

I was lucky and got it on the Fry's deal. Honestly, have used it countless times since. It is so worth it, much better than lots of other sets I have had over the years. I would jump on it at this price. Ready to get another as a spare, but honestly no need since the set will last a long time.

Wow, $16. Are there any compelling difference between the ifixit set and this $16 set? The price gap is pretty significant.

You need to think about it this way. Buying stuff from ifixit is to support them. Kind of like donation. You don't buy it from them for being the best price for similar item.

Also, not many set come with screwdriver that has Torx T1 and Phillips:0000. Not many smartphone need them but for those few that do, you will need to buy a set that have them.

Yes, this set comes with the mat. iFixit sets are good quality, have a good warranty, and they provide repair instructions for most things that you would use a kit like this with.

While Chinese supplied Amazon stuff is a crapshoot...and usually not too good.

Agreed! I got the "Essential Electronics Toolkit" at Fry's back in 2018 for @$12.50. That is part of the "Electronics Repair Bundle" that's now on sale for $37.49.

I do miss Fry's and their deals!
