CPU Benchmark - 15,271, single thread rating 3497

TDP 64w up, 28W typical, 20W down suggests there's a setting to adjust if extending battery life is a goal

Old threads and Asus specs seem to suggest it may be
- TN screen, fine for my kid
- 8GB soldered memory in one DIMM, with an empty slot

Seems like it's worth $20 to go up to 8GB RAM from this similar deal: https://www.staples.com/asus-vivo...t_24527384

The Display is 220 nits 45% NTSC TN Panel by the way. So, for the display, keep your expectation in check.

Asus specs list a 250nits and a 220nits as options for the display. How do you know this is the 220nits version?

Somebody purchased it and shared the details. Not in SD but a friend of mine. However, another coomin observation I can suggest which can help in these kind of situations. IPS panel is a highlight of a Laptop and manufacturers' description in their retailer site, will 99,9% time, highlight it or mentoion it. You may not see the exact term but will see terms like WVA (Wide Viewing Angle), IPS-LIKE etc. Normally when no mention of panel type and instead you see "LCD Display" or "TFT Display" in most cases, it is going to be the lowest eng panel option which manufacturers simply don't want to highlight much.

Thanks. The problem is the specs on Office Depot are rather generic and does not indicate the "IPS-level" panel even if it has it. I purchased the previous generation of this model from Office Depot, and it came with the better 250nits "IPS-level" TN panel, but Office Depot's specs said the same as for this one. Your friend was able to confirm this Office Depot version is the 220nits and not the 250nits? Both are TN, so may be hard to confirm?

You snooze, you lose. Price is back up to $369. It is advertised to be the same price again at OD on Thanksgiving/Black Friday....if you want it, make sure to be on your computer at exactly 12:01AM EST on Thanksgiving morning.

There is no IPS level "TN" Panel, that is IPS panel. IPS name is a trademark of LP-Philips and if manufacturers are sourcing IPS panel from other vendors like AU Optronics, Sharp etc., they use those terminologies. That 250 nits IPS level panel is IPS and the 220 nits one is TN. My friend confirmed this to have the 220 nits TN.

I had it in the cart last night. Thought I would go pick it up today from the local store.
Got the 4GB from Staples last week. Will return that one.

Do you have link to thanks giving ad? I can wait another 2-3 weeks.

Also note, Staples will have an HP i3 11th generation for $250 on Thanksgiving/Black Friday but again I don't know how available it will be. You might have to be on your computer at exactly 3AM EST (or 12AM PT) to get one.
