Seems like a good price for what it is but if your kid has already been using a fully fledged tablet or phone (around the age of 3 in our case.. And yes I realize different parents may think that's way too soon and I respect that) - then they ll get bored quickly with its limitations. Bought the more feature filled zoom version of this and it was tossed in a corner after only a day or two. YMMV obv.
Tell me you're not a parent without telling me.
Yea…no parent in the world prefers a screaming kid over a quiet one. Of course no decent parent should be letting their kid(s) playing their tablets 24/7, but like the other poster mentioned, sometimes you just need to keep your sanity for a bit and these are great distractions for that. Also, it helps with babysitting grandparents as well because for sure they wouldn't have the energy to keep your kids entertained for hours.
I don't disagree with you on the latter. We do have a rule that when in social settings they are not allowed to use it 90% of the time. However we have 3 of em and sometimes you need to maintain your own sanity. And for those cases the occasional video/tech distraction is very helpful for us. I wouldn't let them bother others with loud volume etc however.

Being a parent of 2 kids (5 and 2yrs) I agree that giving tablet to kids at this age is too soon. I prefer them to have more social interaction by going to the park and keep them engaged in outdoor activities. Most irritating thing I see is parents hand out tablets to their all kids at the restaurant so parents can have a good time.

I would much rather have a screaming kid than someone quietly sitting watching a show or playing a game. what does irritate me is the tablets with speaker on instead of headphones.
