This isn't touch screen which I need. Also you can probably find asus zenbook around this price in bestbuy open box with similar specs.

Is this display capable of HDR? Or at least visually same as HDR even if not rated HDR?

What's the difference between the Vivo and ZenBook lineup? Is it similar to the Legion 5 vs the Legion 7 lineup where the materials are different but both are still quality internals?

ViVoBook and ZenBook are normal consumer laptop whereas Legion series is gaming laptop and because of that, their difference is not really comparable.

Now it is not easy to generalized every VivoBook vs ZenBook as each of those series has several sub categories with different Build quality, configuration. For example VivoBook Pro/Pro X series, VivoBook S 15/14X series have better build quality than VivoBook F and Vibook Slim (S) series,
Lets keep the ViVobook F and Slim series out of this as they are very basic budget laptops, comparable to HP Essential or Lenovo IdeaPad 3 series. The higher end ViVoBook vs ZenBook comparison (Similar size and weight class) is more like ZenBooks normally have thinner and lighter design, at least a 100% sRGB display, better selection of ports etc. Higher end VivoBooks are either made of plastic or plastic + metal combination, slightly thicker and less premium looks. Performance difference is not straight forward as there are VivoBooks having better thermal and performance than a ZenBook due to thicker design and better cooling solution which is not possible to fit within the slimmer chassis of ZenBook.

The $999 vivobook pro was a much better deal IMO. $150 more you get the GPU and upgraded processor.

Which one are you referring? You definitely get a dedicated GPU but the CPU is 11370H which is a 11th Gen 4C/8T CPU and a lot less powerful, sometimes, over 50%.

Yeah, maybe I need to rethink that. In terms of value, the discrete CPU with Intel gives the other deal the edge, but in terms of processor performance I can see where this one would.

It drives it just fine without any issues. You guys have a wrong idea that just for driving a 4K display, you need a powerful or at least a dedicated GPU. There are plenty of Laptops with 4K screen and Intel UHD 620 Graphics, with 8th and 10th gen U series Laptops. Also, 4K movi eplayback using hardware decoder works fine.

Yeah, I think it just depends on what you're running. In my experience, on board graphics use CPU so if you're running CPU intensive programs [DAW, Video Editing, content creation] video can get laggy [lose frame rate primarily] with on board graphics. The beauty of a GPU is it handles the display chore on its own, freeing up CPU for other processing tasks. It's a trade off here for sure because you have a beefier CPU. I need to hunt some reviews from content creators for this specific model. It wouldn't be my primary, I have a desktop for that, but I'd want it to still perform some basic content creation duties.
