Honestly these deals are a little disappointing after seeing Google's big marketing dollars push upon the 7's launch.

Pixel 7: Has been available with trade-in values for a significant period of time for net cheaper than this

Pixel 7 Pro: Mint deal at $499+plan has been in and out for over a week now, plenty of time to grab one (including now)

Pixel 6a: Was literally just $299 for over a week straight from google store

A-series buds: Were just $50 at Target last week

Hub: Same price it's been before

I don't know..a little underwhelming for me.

Do note that the Google trade in process is very slow! A 3rd party sends you a trade in kit using the slowest USPS and then you send it back using the slowest USPS, and wait 5 business days for assessment. Totaling about 3 weeks to complete trade in from day of purchase…

Track log will never change. Google has sent me the money back into my credit card. USPS track log still says arriving late. If you're worried, start a chat with Google support. Don't ask the shipper (USPS in my case) because they can't help you. USPS told me to contact the recipient.

Mine took close to 2 weeks to arrive at Google after mailing the trade in device. Google support had mentioned if it takes more time being what they estimate you'll have to contact their support and they can look into it.

Just a lukewarm deal tbh, I still have to pay $250 after P6P ($500) trade-in. In contrast, I can get one at Mint for $589 without a trade-in.

Edit: Here's what a rep just told me, though note that they are wrong constantly:

"If you purchase now you will get the same value. If you want to purchase with the offer the trade-in value may differ.

It may change to either lower or higher."

So, um..no help.
Buy it now with the trade in promos and ask for a price match, and profit

I can say as someone new to the pixel ecosystem, the 7 Pro is pretty much everything I want in a phone. Compares favorably in pretty much all respects to the wife's S22 Ultra, but for a lot less money.

I was looking at used S22's to get close in price, but very glad I went the other direction.

What does everyone do for trade-ins when you are trading in your current phone? Just throwing the SIM card in a older phone you have laying around until the new Pixel phone is delivered? Or do you not need to ship the old phone until you receive the new phone and activate it?

Or are people going to a Google store if they have one nearby?

The trade in kit comes after the new phone is delivered so you can do a live swap out. Once complete, wipe the trade in device and send back in. I think they give you about 30 days to send it back.

Hmm so if I have this right Pixel 7 w/ Pixel 3 XL trade in:
Pixel 7: 599
Tradein: -275
Pricematch -100
Total: 225 + 10% tax (on $499) = $275 Out of pocket

+ add referral credit for $100 Google store credit - but it seems like people are unsure if you can combine that here or not...
