These aren't 'luxury polished chrome', they're all plastic:
Material Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene
If they were actually chrome, or any metal, it'd be much more likely they're capable of removing the flow restrictor without destroying the thing. I wouldn't count on being able to tinker with these plastic crappos.
OK, product Q&A says it comes with an alternate flow restrictor and they can be swapped out or omitted, so I'll take their word for it.

Cringe. Can people please keep on the topic of the shower head or nah?
For those of us that need to powerwash circus elephants, the Commando 500 is very relevant.

K?

A more climate friendly way to shower is to find a pond or lake nearby. Please don't use a chemical filled soap, though. It will hurt the planet.
If you REALLY cared about Our Beloved Planet, you wouldn't be bathing at all! You monster!
People can survive just fine without ever bathing!

Just please stay downwind from me at all times. Thanks!. Big Grin

I brought this a few months ago. Really good shower head for the price. I can confirm that the flow restrictor comes separate and can be swapped. I am using the lower flow and don't even notice an issue using the shower.

One recommendation would be to use your own gasket when doing the installation. It'll save you so much time. The gasket they provide leaks. If you don't have your own gasket, use the one from the old shower as it'll probably work better than what they give.

I can't imagine why anyone would go for a fixed showerhead over a hand held.
In my shower, I have 3 water outputs, with 3 separate faucets: wall, ceiling, and hand held. Something similar to this [thebathoutlet.com]. Pretty standard setup. The combo head you are suggesting wouldn't be practical.

If u need the high pressure, try the $4 shower head from home depot. I replaced the fancy Kohler with this.

I can't imagine why anyone would go for a fixed showerhead over a hand held. You can mount a handheld in fixed mode, or you can take it off the mount for flexibility in washing and/or cleaning the shower area.

In any case, I just purchased this hand held with multiple features (power spray, misting, and waterfall mode, plus the standard ones too) and I highly recommend it.
Handheld w/ power spray https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09YY5XR6Q $10.99
Looks like there may be multiple private labels for this product if you search "showerhead power wash" and they typically cost $30+ so this one for $10.99 seems like a bargain.
At least in my case, the hand held would interfere with the shower caddy I have hanging from the shower head.

The seller says it is limited to 1.8 gpm. That is California's limit. It also comes with a 2.5 gpm flow restrictor you can swap in. Or if we hate the planet you can remove it entirely to pressure wash your self.

IDK if it's better than what you have. The handheld is often very useful. If water pressure is a concern you can remove the flow restrictor from most showerheads but I can't guarantee yours. Sometimes they spray wonky when you remove the restrictor.

I use an inline showerhead flow restrictor, something like this: https://www.menards.com/main/bath...580624.htm

Then I can blast it for a few seconds when I need it or turn it down to a trickle when I don't.

I'm pretty sure more than half the world doesn't understand the water cycle and how the same amount of water exists and is recycled in the world.

This brand doesn't make high pressure shower heads. Even with the water saver washer installed, you still won't get high pressure. Either you learn to deal with it, like me, because I'm too lazy to take it off and install another one, or you buy one that's actually high pressure.
