If they were actually chrome, or any metal, it'd be much more likely they're capable of removing the flow restrictor without destroying the thing. I wouldn't count on being able to tinker with these plastic crappos.
OK, product Q&A says it comes with an alternate flow restrictor and they can be swapped out or omitted, so I'll take their word for it.

K?
People can survive just fine without ever bathing!
Just please stay downwind from me at all times. Thanks!.
One recommendation would be to use your own gasket when doing the installation. It'll save you so much time. The gasket they provide leaks. If you don't have your own gasket, use the one from the old shower as it'll probably work better than what they give.

In any case, I just purchased this hand held with multiple features (power spray, misting, and waterfall mode, plus the standard ones too) and I highly recommend it.
Handheld w/ power spray https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09YY5XR6Q $10.99
Looks like there may be multiple private labels for this product if you search "showerhead power wash" and they typically cost $30+ so this one for $10.99 seems like a bargain.
IDK if it's better than what you have. The handheld is often very useful. If water pressure is a concern you can remove the flow restrictor from most showerheads but I can't guarantee yours. Sometimes they spray wonky when you remove the restrictor.
I use an inline showerhead flow restrictor, something like this: https://www.menards.com/main/bath...580624.h
Then I can blast it for a few seconds when I need it or turn it down to a trickle when I don't.
