I have. I used them when I worked in the Emergency Room for a couple years. I just took a knife and cut one hole on each side of the croc for some air flow. Was enough to prevent swampfoot
They work great in that regard, but it's worth noting they also have the non-slip soles [crocs.com] that will definitely trap debris (or worse) and are a bit of a pain to clean out.

I hate them SO much!
They shred the skin on the top of my feet, even through socks, and they're unbelievably warm. Most shoes give you a warning, these hurt almost instantly.
wonder what a podiatrist might say.
