Under what use case would a build need this much ram at this speed? I thought 3600 is the sweet spot for most ram. Wouldn't it be better to get 16gb dual channel at 3200 or 3600 than 32gb at this speed?

Obviously faster ram is better but 32gb isn't a lot. I routinely use 25gb in my system.
I wish the 4x8 was the same price, this would look silly next to the 16GB (2x8) of "naked" RAM that's in there now. Of course I could max out my board at 64MB (don't judge, it's an older Intel board).
I need some for my PC. Can I use this? I have ddr4 currently. 8gb with 3 open slots. Alienware on43jm mobo.
That's Intel Z490, you should be able to get rid of that 8gb stick and replace it with any DDR4 kit with an Intel XMP. I would get something faster though, like 3600 or so

Could I just keep the eight and add 32 more with it? there are four slots total. the eight only takes up one of them.
