Probably old model. Inactive item in all stores around Dallas.

They only started carrying this in my local store in September.

With Costco prices, the .97 means it's discontinued!

My Costco showed $129.99 in store. Was hoping it'll be your price but I guess not.

Doubled checked the picture I took and the item # was different. The one in my store was item 1637789.

I've had pretty bad luck with these though my systems are getting beefier and I should start looking at Eaton units.

I've purchased 2 of these over the years. Just replaced batteries on the first one. They work great and both were $100 at the time I bought them. I use one for my computer and another for network gear. No issues in almost 5 years.

No, $xx.97 means clearance. It might still come back.
* on the item number means discontinued. They won't carry it anymore.
$xx.00 means manager's discount and it's per store.

How much was the battery replacement? I'm just curious.

I think this model with USB-c port is 2-3 years old model. The previous model has just USB-A charging port. I have 3 of the previous model and the first one died after >8 years. My area has power outage often, so I cannot blame the UPS. I need to replace battery after ~5 years or so with several times of fully discharged (in average of once per year with power outage over an hour).

I checked all over Dallas a few weeks ago, and there were no UPS systems. I needed one quickly, so I bought one on eBay. It was a refurb, although they state new battery, it still cost more than this new unit. I would definately buy one of these, if I could find it. I get out to Rockwall, TX from time to time, so I will check there. The following link is for the one I purchased.

No it dosent. A .97 sale is an unadvertised sale, only an asterisk on the price tag indicates a discontinued (or rather, no further units ordered). Typically these are found together, but not always. Related, a .00, .47, or .49 are manager sales, which are going to be store specific usually.
