It's a good watch and it has seen me to the top of some big, frozen mountains and tracked hundreds of hours of training over the last 2.5 years since I bought it. But even considering inflation and what not, its silly that I bought it on father's day 2020 from Garmin for the same price mentioned here.
The only negative is that sometimes the software thinks it knows your heart rate better than your body and the sensor. So it takes over during an activity and predicts it rather than read it. But a polar chest monitor solves that problem. There are thousands of reports on this on the Garmin forums. But it's a rugged watch that takes a beating with amazing battery life. and once you get used to the buttons, you're better off than having a touchscreen.
