Never made sense to replace a fixture when you can normally add a normal hue bulb for around $25 each from various kit deals.

I get that. In my case, I wanted something slimmer and closer to the ceiling. $220 list is crazy (especially without color). $110 is still crazy, but I like the look and am already addicted to Hue stuff.

I would say a normal fixture like that is about 25-40

The rest is the up-charge for it being Phillips hue

I'm glad to see them diversifying their product portfolio for USA products at last

I wish the being light had color as it would allow me to change a fixture and also get hue ceiling light to work with my sync box as well. No a fan of the other light since it looks ugly still

Hue bulbs all have a disclaimer that they are not meant to be placed inside an enclosure. I have only ever had one hue bulb burn out early, and it was inside an enclosure. So to me, if you want an enclosure and a hue bulb, this makes sense.

In time hue will catch up to Lifx. Still a little ways to go. Glad they're competing against each other tho

Hue Infuse ceiling light has color, super bright, and quality is great. Very expensive but one of the better looking hue ceiling lights.

Have one in the bedroom, completely automated with home assistant. Turns on when walk into room, changes to warm color in evening, and red at night on low setting for night light.

Favorite thing is I use it as an alarm with my Apple Watch. When alarm goes off on my Apple Watch, the infuse turns on full brightness with white color temp to help me wake up.

How do you have the apple watch synced to hue like that? I've been looking for that for a long time! Does it work with third-party alarms like autosleep?

In the shortcuts app you can set automations to run when you wake up, it should be under sleep shortcuts. So I have a scene created for my hue light to go on at 100% with white color temp and then the shortcut activates that scene on wake up detected by my watch.

Ordered 2 and got them this weekend. First, I was not expecting them to be so heavy. Second, they were shipped in what appeared to be the original shipping box, 2 per box. However, the seals on the individual boxes inside were both broken. Weird since the outer box seemed to be sealed with original tape. Anyone else see this or am I the only one who ordered 2.

Sorry for the late reply. I ordered 3 and they all came sealed (black stickers). I installed all 3 and they are fine.
