Love the build quality, but it lags terribly when trying to play lower resolution mp4's with VLC. With the great screen quality, was hoping to use it as a media center but not just for music.

RAM 8GB and this thing would be an amazing machine.

Still worth the price given the keyboard and build quality.

Just lower your expectations lol and get used to some lag with some tasks.

Even with Linux enabled and various apps involved it's still usable. Yes - some lag is there. But I ain't gunna complain too much given the aforementioned aspects and the price.

I installed Fedora 37 on this Chromebook using https://eupnea-linux.github.io/

I made my own installer with Depthboot. I deleted ChromeOS on the internal drive and replaced it with Fedora 37.

I also put it into performance mode using: https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos...ance_mode/
