Nice price. I'm gonna hold until I miss the sales though, most likely.

Depends on the game of course. I have a 1060 that can run non-demanding games at 1440@144hz. But for things such as Spider Man or the new recent 3D games, I'd look for a 6800 or 6800xt.

I'm waiting on the $250 price as well. Amazon and Newegg have had this for $279 the past two weeks. I was hoping the 7000 series announcement would have lowered them by now.

Yes this card can run them at 1440p without issues. Games released this year might have issues with everything maxed in the settings though, so might need to play at high vs max/ultra.

I'm building my first pc and it will be used mainly for 1080p/144p gaming. Games that I might play include warzone, horizon zero dawn and maybe Elden ring.

I just bought the MSI - AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT MECH 2X 12G - 12GB GDDR6 from best buy the other day for $356.99 thinking I should be good for a couple of years with this purchase.

Do you guys recommend this one for my intended use instead?

Thanks.

Were you able to get the 2 free games (Callisto and Dead Island 2)? I see BB includes it now but it might not have when you bought it. If you didn't get them and are interested in playing them...worth checking if you can get them post-purchase or do a return.

If you consider this card (6650 XT) to be valued at $250...then scaling for performance your card is worth $315 or so. So you paid $40 overhead for a much better 1440p experience and to probably put off upgrading again a little bit more. I think not getting the 2 free games would be a bigger thing than $40, though (if that's your case).

Your card is $350 after MIR at Newegg...there's probably a lot of people waiting/expecting it to drop in price soon since it hasn't for awhile.

I wish our dreams came true with the price. GPU overall was going down, but the inflation brought them back up... way up. Don't see that happening soon. Still hanging on with 10 yo beast. ;-)

I just replaced my 7950 Boost with a 6600 XT when it hit $250. Huge difference. Very happy with the upgrade and price.

So am I right in assuming that video card prices are back to relatively normal levels, or are further price reductions likely if one can wait a while longer?
