I'm hoping it hits $299.99 for BF deals.

I am on the same boat. As DDR5 price drops a lot, it is more and more attractive to consider 7000 series.

Amazon has a lightning deal last month for $335, so I'd expect a drop for BF.

Might be a nice upgrade for someone on a compatible motherboard, but if building a system from scratch I'd probably either get something cheaper (like the 5600) or get the next generation (e.g. 7600X). Total system cost will be higher with the 7600X, but you're on a platform that's not dead.

I wont buy now. Given the strong competition from Intel, these price needs to be significantly lower. Hope it would happen soon around BF!

Yeah I'm waiting myself. I have a 3900X, so it's like a 15% upgrade. Not huge, but it's the cheapest upgrade I have with am4

Just a tip:
If you're buying this for a gaming build you'll be better off with a 5800x3d. Otherwise this is the best AM4 processor available.

No, the 5800X3D is bar none the fastest cpu for AM4 for gaming.

For most other workloads, the 5900x (and 5950x) are much faster.

Agreed, I probably wouldn't start a build on AM4 at this point. In my case, I've kept my X370 and upgraded from 1600 to 3600 and now to 5900X. It's a dead platform, but I'm happy to maximize what's left before maybe upgrading to AM5 in a few years.

If w double up the core count from the 5600 that's on sale for $120 then this should be $240-$260.

You're right I forgot the 5950x existed for a moment there.

Still holding out for that 5950x under $400. Although a sub $300 5900x would be tempting.

I also have the 3900x too but unfortunately, I'm also using an x470 motherboard. I've been tempted to upgrade one last time to the 5900x but I'm not sure it's worth it since I'm still on the old x470. I guess if I was on x570 it might be worth it. I dunno.
