The chassis on this is like an animal cage. The motherboard is custom garbage. The graphics card is custom garbage. The CPU fan? Custom garbage. Top to bottom this has to be the worst prebuilt money can buy. Even HP fares better.

Do not under any circumstances buy an Alienware unless you are gutting it for parts.

I bought an Aurora back in Feb 22 and the airflow is absolutely terrible, the PSU sits directly on top of the pump for the water cooler (who does that!?). It's hard to tell on the images for this (glass side cut doesn't show the PSU there but other images show a black panel) but I would not gamble on getting that configuration again. Also it's an integrated PSU on a swing arm, so not as easy as just dropping everything into a new case.

Buyer beware - Dell offers the worst customer service in this world! I ordered an Alienware R10 at the beginning of October - they held my payment for longer than a month while kept delaying the shipment till the end they canceled my order despite their order support, care and order alternation departments all told me a lie about they would do whatever it took to fulfill my order, WHAT A LIAR! My story is not a one-off scenario, you should be prepare yourself to go through non-stopping troubles whenever any basic customer service is needed in future. Stay away from Dell!

Plus this Alienware prebuild is not even deal. I ended up build mine in DIY using components purchased from Microcenter and Neweggs.com -the best bang for the buck!
I had almost the same experience, terrible company terrible support terrible customer service. Stay away!

Solid deal, but I'd only pull the trigger on this if you absolutely must have that custom case & aesthetic. The Ryzen 5800 is a beast and the 6600 XT is a fantastic 1080p to light 1440p GPU, but there are already deals around this same price range that give similar (if not better) price-to-performance in a less proprietary build design.

Never buy Alienware!
I'm happy with mine just make sure you have it liquid cooled. Most complaints stem from a fan cooled design.

Got an Aurora r7 with a 1070 & liquid cooled years ago. It's still kicking with heavy daily use.

Added more ram, swapped out front and rear fans. Runs way quieter and it's easy to adjust fans through AW thermals.

I'd buy one again.

No the parts like the psu have become much more weirdly proprietary since the r7.

And the old ryzen has weak IPC vs new chips

Must be an old one, I haven't seen a swing arm on recent generations. That being said it's a weird psu

Dell has terrible customer service. You are likely on your own if anything goes wrong. You might ended up in hours-long phone call for nothing

As someone who owns an Alienware R12, I would not buy an Alienware pre-built again. The thing has no airflow.
Are you seeing excessive temps, though?

It's sad to hear Dell sucks now. I bought a scratch and dent Nehalem i7-powered XPS desktop way back when and it's still going strong. I can even play modern games after installing a new PSU and 1070 ti (and an SSD). Air flow is awesome still!

Does this terrible CS apply to their monitors too? Heard Dell monitors are pretty good or is that not the case?

Same here. I'm still using my old 8700 with a (3g) 1030 in it. The thing runs great. Zero issues.

I ordered the R10, Ryzen 7 5800 with 6800XT in October too, they ran out, they cancelled that order but they sent me a R14 with a 5800X instead of the 5800 for the same price. I'm extremely happy with the computer.
