I went on a cruise on Carnival Conquest in August 2022 through Costco Travel as our first family cruise (family of 4 with a 13 and 14 year old). We splurged on the Balcony cabin.

No complaints, in general, especially given how cheap the cruise was. Be aware that the Carnival Conquest seems to be one of their older ships. It's clean, but the pool is small and the water slides are a little short. Food is good, and the fees are all inclusive. We hit a storm the first day out, and the ship did sway some. Make sure you bring sea sickness medication if you're not sure if you get sea sick. The onboard store ran out of the medication that day.

Watch out for the additional fees, we purchased the Internet access and the Bubbles package (the soda package). The big fees are the shore excursions. Make sure you research on YouTube on what is worth going to.

All in all, it's a decent, cheap vacation. I think next time we'll go on a more modern ship that has more of everything (bigger pool, more entertainment, etc).

I've been on a Carnival cruise and I've never seen crab catching as an excursion.. is this something free that is done on the boat or is it off boat during the off boat time?
What do you expect from Carnival, lobster?

for cruise newbiews, could you please elaborate on that.
Port fees and taxes are about $100 or more per person. So that brings the price up more than double.

Another thing is that it doesn't include alcohol so you will be buying that (and wifi too), unless you are pre-paid or deals like MSC.

Then, you have $12-18 PER day PER person gratuity that is mandatory to pay.

Still, you can find deals that are very reasonable.

Was on MSC 4 night cruise to Bahamas this year, with my family (2 adults 2 kids) in balcony, including drinks and wifi. AD said $180 per person, ended up paying $1700+$200 tip for the whole trip. Had a blast and drank like crazy. Fun times....

Seems like very cheap. What's the catch? You have to attend a timeshare conference?
It's winter. It's the slowest time of the year for US cruises. Been cruising for at least 10 years, there has never been a timeshare conference on the cruise. If you live close to Miami then it's worth it. 3 days cruise is not working flying in for.

Hey I found this if anyone wants to see pics of the Conquest. Looks like a fairly modern ship and got updates not long ago

Looks like you're sleeping at an old motel from the looks of the photos. Do I really want to be stuck on a boat with all of you?

Read about how COVID deaths are counted. Died "with" is counted as died "from."
Not to mention we know who the vast majority that actually died from covid is comprised of. Instead of total lockdowns, they should have focused on protecting the elderly and those with serious health issues. I'm still pissed that they're trying to get kids vaccinated when they're the least seriously affected...

There is no reasoning with the religious. I, for one, am happy to not have to share a boat with the covidians.

Just curious, are cruises for one way only and you have to figure out airplane tickets back or it's a round trip? I want to go on one next year.

No. You dislike people like me because in the ED you would be taking direction from me. But i get it. You are afraid. See yourself out to n95 mask deal.

Nobody cares that you are an RN.
Kind.
