I went on a cruise on Carnival Conquest in August 2022 through Costco Travel as our first family cruise (family of 4 with a 13 and 14 year old). We splurged on the Balcony cabin.

No complaints, in general, especially given how cheap the cruise was. Be aware that the Carnival Conquest seems to be one of their older ships. It's clean, but the pool is small and the water slides are a little short. Food is good, and the fees are all inclusive. We hit a storm the first day out, and the ship did sway some. Make sure you bring sea sickness medication if you're not sure if you get sea sick. The onboard store ran out of the medication that day.

Watch out for the additional fees, we purchased the Internet access and the Bubbles package (the soda package). The big fees are the shore excursions. Make sure you research on YouTube on what is worth going to.

All in all, it's a decent, cheap vacation. I think next time we'll go on a more modern ship that has more of everything (bigger pool, more entertainment, etc).

Any Europe or Alaska/canada ones in '23?
Yes. I'm going to Alaska in May. But not at this price!

Seems like very cheap. What's the catch? You have to attend a timeshare conference?
Taxes and port fees. I recently cruised for $100... but it was almost $400 out the door. Mine was 7 days, so still a great deal.

What makes these a deal is that they are weekend cruises, if you don't have a job and don't mind travel during the week than this is a price you can find throughout the year. Yes taxes and fees are excessive and I think cruise should be forced to include them in the advertised price just like airlines.

Looking for my first cruise with family. Should I wait for Black friday or this is the best price?
Any suggestions
I don't think they do much black Friday sales at least the cruise line. I would book directly with them. As well if it is for a family trip I would book a longer cruise like 6 days+ as the shorter cruises tend to be the adult party cruises.

I bet the ship is cleaner than your house. Anything else constructive to add? Been on several cruises since covid. . . No issues yet.
Boom- roasted!

I'm here for the COVID debate, to see which one of you has figured out by now what your government and hospitals are doing to their own people all over the world. Nope, I am not going to help you figure it out or give you anymore clues.

How much is it?
Around 90$-100 each person for port, and tip each person 10$-12$ per day

3 days and 3 guests 400$ extra required.
Otherwise not required

Just curious, are cruises for one way only and you have to figure out airplane tickets back or it's a round trip? I want to go on one next year.
Always round trip

Almost always round trip. The itinerary should show you returning to the same port.

My neighbor came back from cruise and missed majority of the trip because they caught covid onboard. They were full vaccinated and boosted.
Same happened with my friends on august.

True story, we did the Carnival Magic out of Galveston. I bought a bunch of wine and gave everyone a bottle to take on board (you're allowed 1 bottle each) for dinners. They charge a f*cking "uncorking" fee to drink your own wine at dinner. One dinner, the "waiter" went off on a long tangent about the wine he was opening... I was like.. DUDE, I bought it, I know what a Malbec is.
Here's where you went wrong. You were on a Carnival ship and you brought a bottle of wine. That's just way to "klassy" for Carnival. Should you go on Carnival again, bring a boxed wine. It fits with the clientele and you won't seem too uppity. Or just bring a cheap bottle and avoid the uncorking fee by hitting the neck on the side of the table. Viola! Free uncorking, glass shards at no charge.
