For Eero, a word of warning that pretty much anything more than "I can connect to the internet" from a feature standpoint will cost you $100/yr subscription. That includes parental controls, usage analytics etc that are free on every other router.
Wifi 7 will probably be out in 3 or 4 years knowing how fast tech advances. Futurproofing isn't all that possible in tech
Had this and can attest it's not great. Replaced with Decos which seem to have much better range

Yea but if futurproofing is part of your purchase that's something you'll want.

Shit .. I just bought a ac2200 and point for $60. Will it be ok for working from home with a Netgear CM1000?
Honestly this new googleNest has been giving us problems for a long time. Check the forums. IMO, go with the net gear mesh or Eero. Don't belive the $#!+ about having to pay etc etc. I've installed over 230 of those eero including the pro and no issues. EXTRAAAAA FEATURES are always additional. Do you need those controls over ur internet? Then it's optional. To answer your questions with more data, EERO will suffice, cheaper alternatives are always available which are a hit or miss but still more usable than the NESTWIFI. I can tell you that you will have access to PORT FORWARD features as well as prioritize device etc. Coverage, drop zones, speed and maintenance are a key when you don't have to do much to get results. But definitely get a different device if you don't want issues.

As far as I can recommend, if ur currently having internet issues, check the Wire, the TAP, the ground blocks and in-between to make sure that you don't have problems getting to the MODEM directly. If all this is GTG then get urself an affordable NETGEAR or eero or something other than the NESTWIFI. EVEN the Google Wifi works 100% more efficiently than the new one. I have atm, 72 devices at he moment without drop issues and speed problems. (Google Wifi 3 Pucks).

got router and 1 point(covers single story and whole backyard) for ~$116 a month ago. Set up was easy with ATT fiber, very happy so far. Point also has google assistant function, and works/sounds much better than my old google home units.

Eh 6 is new and overpriced. Wifi 5 works just fine if you only have a handful of devices using it. A couple years time and wifi 6 might be worth it
6 is as fast as 1gbps wire through the air and 6E is 1.2gbps linked. It's quite nice for internal transferring to my HDD external drive attached to my router

I have this and bought for $150 from target deal. Hate it compared to decos. For 1g speeds, max wifi speeds on latest wifi capable devices tops at 600mbps closer to router. Nodes barely beat 400mbps with 2 nodes covering 2K sqft home. Even the deco wifi6 refurbished have better performance than this crap. Wait for a better deal is my honest opinion.

I just sprung for the Nest Wi-Fi Pro that supports 6E. I actually upgraded from the version that's mentioned in this post. I highly recommend the 6E version if you have more space to cover. The previous version left me with some dead spots but now I'm covered everywhere. The app and set up is the exact same. I do prefer the matte finish on the previous generation.

If you don't have 300+ mbps internet or live in a crowded wifi area, you [most likely] don't need wifi 6.

These are solid, but I would recommend looking into "router only" packs, vs buying the additional nodes this comes with. The routers have a stronger signal and wired ports. They are also pretty cheap these days.

If you are looking into the newest wifi 6 version of these, they are not backwards compatible with this model. This model is backwards compatible with the gen 1s.

These are not for power users, you cannot even see router logs anymore. Well. Okay I'm a power user and have these. At some point I stopped caring so much about tweaking every option on earth (what a time suck) and just having good wifi for the family.

If you want to see per-device bandwidth usage, these will give it to you. Pretty sweet option to find out which device is sending you over bandwidth caps.

These do not have the thread networking that the latest gen comes with, if smart home upgrades are in your future.

This is trash EQUIPMENT. GREAT DEAL but not worth it. Unless they fixed the issue with the dropping and NO BRIDGEMODE. However awesome find. My advise before you buy, go and do some research in the forum for Google not reddit, and confirm my claims before buying. If anyone wants to say that claims are unsubstantiated, great. Buy it and enjoy the new equipment. 😉
I 100 and 10% agree with this.
We had these, absolute nightmare. The closest wifi point get disconnecting and never reconnecting. the point that was about twice the distance (and a gen 1 vs gen 2) would stay connected without issue.

Ended up getting the eeros and not a single problem to date with them.

I've been trying to get one for my parents for a year but I'm honestly just so I'm un-knowledgeable about mesh. Is this a good deal or should I wait for a better price? Or is there a better mesh system I should keep my eye out for? Thank you.

I have had these for over 2 years now, Got 1 snow and 3 points from Costco. Work like a charm, run about 42 devices, including laptops, few TVs and constant streaming. Easy to monitor using Google Home app, create a Guest Network, monitor devices, Parental control…absolutely love them. I use Fiber optic with 300 mbps and all devices work perfect with these.

Would recommend getting them, if you like to keep it simple.
