You might be dead next year from World War 3, so buy and enjoy now.

At work (i.e. if you work for GE, Dell, Tesla, etc.). They have a company portal typically to provide discounts. My employer does discounts for Dell, Bose, Samsung, LG and many more.
Thanks. I'm gubmint, so I don't think we'd have anything like that.

This right here makes it worth Sony charging an extra $50 for their console. The ability to use non proprietary drives to upgrade storage. 2TB for under $200 while MS is charging $200 for 1TB

Is there any way to confirm this?

I'm looking at the 4TB or SN850?

4TB if you can swing it. It's not like you won't use up the storage

The only way I can confirm is by what the reviewers are saying on Amazon. I just received mine from Amazon, and the production date is May 18, 2022. I didn't open it to see if the firmware has been updated, because I'm returning it once the one I ordered from Samsung is ready for pickup at Bestbuy (since it was $25 cheaper for me).

Local LEO, no .gov email. I can't find a sign up to give it a try, is there a link on the site that I'm missing?

That is interesting because even the local sherrifs office in my area have .gov emails.

Here is the link

You could also go to ID.me and try there. I think they have other verification methods.
