I'd hope there would be a quite noticeable decrease in price on these once the Gen 5 version releases.

Out of stock or backorders. Nice deal but turns out I can't take advantage of PCIe4 anyways so glad that the PCIe3 from Samsung has a nice price as well right now.

Saw a few comments on the heatsink one about removing the heatsink. Knowing its an old thread but seeing recent commments, I bought this on Newegg during the Black Friday week.

Can confirm you can remove the heatsink but at your own risk.

1. It voids warranty, there's a sticker near one of the screws saying that.
2. You risk stripped screws. One of my P5 screws was extremely tight and ended up getting stripped. I tried removing it with a rubber band and then super glue but to no avail. Because the screw is so tiny, at this point, I think I'm going to get a rotary tool to get the screw removed.

My advice is if you don't need the heatsink, buy without when its available again for the low price.

Hope this helps folks that still are viewing this thread!

Not sure, didn't say it was back ordered. I ended up getting the 2 TB 970 NVME for $156 from Amazon and got it the same day.

Wish I never ordered from Samsung directly, not worth the $20 extra I saved. December 6th delivery changed to January 10 and now January 23. All deals seem to be over at retailers so guess I wait. Lesson learned!

I don't have a second open M.2 Slot on my PC to update the firmware of this SSD. My Ps5 says the read speed is 6480 mb/s. Good enough for me! Thanks.
