I said this in other msi 6950xt thread too, but just FYI this seems to be final sale and non-returnable as per Newegg website.

Return Policies

"Return for refund within: non-refundable

Return for replacement until: January 31, 2023"

price does not make much sense with the upcoming 7900. I personally wait for 6900xt to hit $600 or 6800xt to hit 480-500 and get 7900 next year (I do not think we will be able to buy it in December)

The key here is if you need a card right now, this is a pretty good deal. Although, I can see prices going down further in the next few months for the secondary market once the new-gen cards stock stabilizes. That is not happening for at least 3-4 months, given the current stock issues. The 4090 is very hard to find in stock, and that card is worth $1600 at minimum. This is with miners out of the equation. So either Nvidia purposefully is limiting stock, or there is just not enough yield.

It beats the 3090 Ti ON AVERAGE up to 1440p. The 6590 XT loses to the 3090 Ti at 4K
https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...,4388.html

It would have to get under $600 to be as good of a price/performance of lower cards. That's possible as clearance sales happen. My spreadsheet for comparison to the RX 6600 price/performance at 1440p: https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...sp=sharing

Note that because the RX 6700 10GB has minimal benchmarking, that performance rating is a rough estimate.

Looks to be about 10-15% faster than a 6800xt for about 50% more price wise.

Faster than a 3090ti 1080p, similar at 1440p and slower at 4k.

Nvidia is limiting and over pricing 40 series to get rid of excess 30 series stock that should be marked way down by now.

Compare 3080 msrp to 4080 msrp….

I am done supporting these massive levels of greed, they have forced me to go team red.

This is definitely a 4k card so I wouldn't use 1440p benchmarks. Also It wouldn't matter how great the price to performance is on the 6600 at 4k if it can't realistically play new games at 4k.

This card has an insane 80 RDNA2 compute units. That's double the 6700 xt for about double the price. This is not a bad deal for how much silicone they are giving you for the price. It might not be a great deal when compared to the upcoming RDNA3 cards however. That's a different story.

I agree completely. As soon as I saw that was the MSRP for the 4090 I just laughed and hoped that AMD came out with something reasonable. Hope the performance is good in the upcoming 7000 line.
