We took one of our dogs to a board certified dentist and she advised us to ditch the hard toys as well. They make the pups happy though and in the grand scheme of things, we decided to let the dogs have them.

DON'T buy these. My golden retrievers loved them until one broke a tooth on them. $1500 later for a tooth extraction. Not a slick deal

DO NOT BUY. I purchased one a few years ago when they were on sale. My dog got extremely sick. After a bit of research, I found many other people whose dogs also got sick. Never let a dog chew something that falls apart as they chew. With things like nylabone, this is mainly to avoid choking, but this toy disintegrates into sawdust that dogs will lick up and swallow, perhaps before you even notice. This will cause dogs to vomit or worse. Just read some of the one star reviews on amazon and ask if it is worth saving a few bucks. Roll the dice and you might have a significant vet bill on your hands.
Every dog chew toy ever comment on SD.
WATCH your dog while giving them this toy. Do not leave it around while you're out of the house. Hard chew toys like this should be given once and a while.
72% 5 star reviews, maybe your dog is wood gluten free..

I do watch my dogs whenever I give them any toy or bone, but nobody gives their dog undivided attention. These things shed small wood particles that dogs quickly lap up and make them sick. I noticed some as I put away the toy for the night but it was too late and my dog was extremely sick for several days. I never had a problem with nylabone, Kong, or other chew toys.

A halfway decent rating on Amazon does not equal a quality product. How many of those are paid and/or fake reviews. Maybe most of the products are okay but the company has poor quality control. Truth is there are numerous people on Amazon, here, and elsewhere, that had serious issues with this product. Blame us or our dogs if it help you justify buying this product. It won't change the facts that many mor dog will get sick from it, maybe even your dog.

Fake wood 🪵 which is so real it's harder than real wood. Might not be great for your dogs chompers. Just say'n.

I was thinking about getting these for our new labradoodle puppy my friend's dad got for us at the house. Not sure what's good for them because I've never had a dog. Exs had them. Should I just get rawhide and any specific brand people recommend that are made in the US? Thinking about a Kong PB toy and some with food bits, Nylabone and Chuckit.

I agree.. ditch the plastic.
We only give beef shin bones and thick rope. 11yrs old on one of them and zero plaque, same for the 5yr old too
My Vet is happy. Idk, maybe The bones are like a scraper and the rope i guess is like floss 😂. Idk,but all my 10 dogs in my life have had the same. Good luck.

I have a doodle also and have had luck with the benebone wishbone. No issues with it breaking off in pieces and no issues with his teeth yet. He didn't like the nylabones that we tried but loves the wishbone.
