Actually, no. Inflation is not brutal at all in this case!

If you paid $5 in 1975 (splitting your reference to the "70s" roughly in half) then that album would cost $27.70 in today's dollars adjuted for inflation. So, a $15 album today is a pretty slick deal comparatively. In reverse, that $15 today is like paying just $2.71 back in 1975!

It was $15 at Walmart in 2020. Got into vinyl right before that so I went nuts buying like 20+ albums hitting 4 stores. Just pulled up my old receipts. Last year sucked comparatively; think they were $15 again but it was only certain ones. That first year when it was everything I got a few $35-40 MSRP for $15.
I just came back from the store and I scanned probably 10 titles and all were $15 (and not all of them had the "Walmart Exclusive" sticker on them).

All in-stock vinyl: $8

I wonder if $10 is possible in the future?

Damn. This may warrant a midnight trip out to WalMart. Do we know if the sale starts at midnight or some other arbitrary time?

$15? Wow inflation from the 1970s is brutal.

Last time I bought a vinyl 33 LP album they were $5

45 singles were $1

I didn't get any 78s

I was thinking of doing the same thing, will they adjust the price to the new $15?

Is this on all vinyl, or just the same "Walmart Exclusives" that it shows online too for $15?
Or, is all they usually stock in-store the Walmart Exclusives?
