The speaker is much larger, and it also has upfiring speakers. In real life use, I don't know if it makes a huge difference, but probably is dependent on the size of your room. We have the 9500S speakers paired w/ the Q950A in our Great Room, and the the 9100S in our much smaller, loft area. Both are great. The biggest benefit of the 9500S is that it's wireless except for power. No need to run any speaker wires to a separate base.

I got these last year around the same time for around $180 from Best Buy if I remember correctly, so this price isn't too bad

I used them for few months until I upgraded to a different system.

Anyone local in the metro Detroit area, I have a lightly used set for sale for 100, PM me if me interested.

Yes. The 9500s add up firing channels and do not need a wireless module. Just a power cord.

Got mine a couple of weeks ago to pair with a q800b and they really do complete the sound. You can't get an atmos bubble without it

Still seems like a lot for what they are. Most of us probably got the Samsung soundbars that these go with for about the same price.

Are the 9500S really that much better than the 9100s?

Dammit...wireless would be much better for my living room setup. Now I've got to get these, and with the 9100s just laying around I'm gonna wind up buying another soundbar for a different room.

Anyone know if these could act as extra front speakers? Or are they exclusively for rear? I want to add them to my Q800b setup

Do they work as extra surround for Samsung HW Q990B?

Had a feeling these would drop lower than what Samsung was offering for with their EPP and bundle pricing. Likely lower come the new year.

The 990b already has 2 back speakers, and you wouldn't be able to add any more extra rear speakers

These have been in my "saved for later" cart for almost a year after buying the Q800A soundbar... time to finally see if they are worth the money!

The same price also at Best Buy where I could use my $100 GC from the Pixel 7 pre-order promo along with $5 rewards certificate and 5% off via PayPal (w/ Chase Freedom).

Have been waiting for the price drop as well! In for one pair, slight savings over amazon directly with Samsung EPP.
