Been in the market for a laptop to replace a 3 year old Inspiron 15. Would be used primarily for work: web browsing, spreadsheets, some video calls, etc. was hoping to find something that's future proof for the next couple years.

Would this be a good option?

I would say so, yes. It's got a latest-generation Intel processor, which is one of the fastest [cpubenchmark.net] currently available in laptops. This processor also has Intel's new different cores, so some are power cores and some are efficiency (for taking care of background processes without using as much power). It has a decent sized SSD, and those are usually upgradable if necessary. Quite a lot of RAM too, but from the way it lists 8GB as "onboard" and the other as a 32GB SoDIMM, I'm guessing you won't be able to upgrade to more RAM if you need it in the future. But 40GB is way more than most laptops currently come with (typical is 8-16GB). The only thing this doesn't have is a high-end graphics card. But if you're not gaming, that won't matter much (though I've heard the Iris Xe can handle older games moderately well anyway).

Why isn't this getting more upvotes? It seems solid for the price no?

It is a good deal for a 3k resolution laptop. Got 6 cell battery. 40Gb RAM is a lot.

Hmm. I had been looking at this laptop (and then came across this post). A little nervous about some of the reviews complaining about tech issues with Inspiron 16 laptop.

It looks like a good deal, except the refresh rate is 60Hz. Curiosity; why haven't many people commented on this deal?

This is back at same price. How's this deal? Seems like a solid machine, just not sure how good of a deal it is.
