The DF875XI is brand new and I suspect it is the reason the GN875I is being discounted. The DF875XI is $1,050 on Wen's website. Until the DF875XI came out the GN875i was the only generator that came close to what I wanted. I believe they are still the only ones that have a TT-30R and an L14-30R. If you have a travel trailer and a home transfer switch like we do these are basically the only options that work right out of the box. I'm going to keep using my 10 year old champion for now until I see a deal on the new DF875XI but this is still a great deal on the GN875i

I bought this unit last year. I have only run it for break-in and occasional exercise but it seems to perform well. It is quite loud though, just be aware in case that is an issue for your use case. I paid $810 direct from Wen with no tax and free shipping so close to this deal with tax.

Are there non-transfer-switch-ready generators? The one I have didn't mention it but hooks up to my transfer switch just fine. I'm not sure if they're advertising some additional feature?

I was surprised to see that inflation practically had no impact on this model. They must have quite a big margin on it to start off with

DF875XI with free shipping / no tax is a total steal for these features at $1050. I bought one a week ago - runs great, including running a 2 ton central AC unit.

Do you think this is enough to start a 4-ton ac unit?

If this is the same design as the Champion 100520 8750W inverter (I believe it is), you should be able to use the US Carb kit to add fuel options (tri-fuel - propane, natural gas, gasoline)
https://motorsnorkel.com/product/...rsion-kit/

It was an easy install (and you'd still a few bucks over the dual fuel DF model while getting 3 options instead of 2). I did it with the Champion and it runs... err... like a champ... on Natural Gas. The transfer switch readiness on that one was a very simple disconnect behind the panel. Don't know if it's the exact same with the Wen GN875 but it's probably similar.

If you only need Propane in addition to Gasoline, I would suggest just ponying up for the DF model.

Yeah I just need it for propane I have a dual fuel DuroMax 10k Watt now I use but was looking into maybe getting a big inverter gen too.

I believe it just means it comes with the 240v NEMA L14-30R twist lock receptacle. So if your unit, or any other unit has such, it is capable of being connected to a transfer switch on a home. This unit also has a 120v receptacle for connecting to an RV. Many RV focused generators don't have 240v receptacles, just 120v.

Or, as another slick dealer stated, it may have a floating neutral.

Depends on the SEER rating. Maybe with a soft start kit?

You mean you can connect this to a house electrical panel?

Thanks. Just went on Wen's site and bought the DF875iX. We just moved to a new house and we had the builder put in a 30 amp interlock kit. This will work perfectly for what we need.
