I think that it's perhaps because the previous generation Ring Security System deal at Costco (last year) was a 10 piece for $130. This one seems like so much more expensive, while only including a few extra pieces.

Progressive given an additional discount(10%) for the smoke detector(Fire) included in this kit. YMMV. Ring confirmed this will be included in their certificate. You can also get this detector separately for 30$.
