shoot. AMEX offer has just expired. I'd love to buy this and some Logitech mice and get $100 off $500.

May be you want to check the performance numbers to justify the price instead of deciding based on SOC manufacturer.

in their defense.... i honestly have never heard of a mediatek SOC be able to compete against a snapdragon (not sure what samsungs personal socs are like..)

heck... most chipsets still have issues trying to compete against the old tegra processor when it comes to gpu which this tablet has the screen

With the Tab P11 Pro, you won't have to worry about your device becoming obsolete in a short amount of time. The tablet comes with Android™ 12 right out of the box. Plus, enjoy three years of security updates and the next two versions of Android™ operating system until Android™ 14.

Good luck with that! I had the Tab P11 Plus, which were due for an Android 12 update last May, but nothing until now. Oh, they did release the upgrade last August which bricked a bunch of people's tablet so they pulled the update and nothing is happening until now. Don't be deceived by their marketing, do your homework and Google Lenovo's horrible Android update.

How is this compared to tab S8? I recently bought one for $360ish. Is this better?

Primarily for gaming and media consumption.

Not as powerful as S8. You must have traded in something to get it for that price though.

This Lenovo is supposed to be pretty fast. Mediately chips have come a long way. Their next chip is rumored to trade punches favorably with the Snapdragon 8 2.

Check YouTube, but I'm pretty sure this will even run Dolphin emulator well.
