That's it.
Few things to keep in mind, is that you can't use remaining ink in the tank if you stop paying, another is that you can't opt out of subscription after a year if you just want to buy the ink outright. You can stop paying but then the whole thing will stop working.
The printer needs to be connected to internet for it to work, no offline printing and no 3rd party cartridges, ever. If one month you go over, you'll be charged a overage fees.
Since it's a subscription they could raise the price like Netflix and you may not have a choice to "opt out". They have raised the price in the past, they used to have an even cheaper subscription that they got rid of.
Epson and Canon are trying to join the ranks. One of them won't scan without ink.
yes 2018 black friday! manufacturers are making up fake shortages and supply issues to gouge the public.

i'm not looking for a printer at the moment, but for anyone curious, like most/all lower-end all-in-ones like this, it uses 67XL cartridges which are just black and c/m/y (two total), which will be a fair amount of waste if you aren't printing all the colors evenly.

that being said, there do appear to be a wide variety of generic replacements that are cheaper, on amz and elsewhere. either way, a pretty great deal just to be able to have a printer/scanner/copier around. no personal experience with the upkeep, however (drying out, cleaning heads, whether it disables b&w printing and/or scanning when the color cartridge is out of one color, etc.)

With instant ink it's not much of a biggie though as you'll get ink sent to you as part of the plan...sure, they refurbish them on their side "cheaper" and all...

Can you use these without the Instant Ink plan? I pay like 15 bucks a month for the plan. I print quite a bit.

This deal might pay for itself.

"9 free months of Instant Ink subscription when you activate HP+ – Print up to 700 pages a month...."

700 pg a month is a decent deal if you print a lot.

Anyone know for sure if you can do multiple free instant ink promo deals on different printers?

Yes, they had 2 years in a row for $20. Recycled them both a year ago.

9 free months of instant ink supplied itself pay for itself. 9 months you just print unlimited (upto 700 pages/ month), and then you have 2 options:
1. Either you downgrade or select the plan as per your printing needs and continue
2. Or you cancel instant ink subscription and use original cartridges and print and refill as per your needs, you're not tied with any monthly payment plan.

9 months instant ink subscription is the biggest perks here, so far we have seen 6 months free, i also got last year BF with 6 months.

For printing , copying and scanning quality: this is not the best all-in-one printer out there, you can't expect that from $40 printer, it gets the job done!
