I've been keeping an eye out for ceiling speakers and got a 3 camel alert on these. Not a huge discount, but every little bit helps.

I have 4 of these as my height channels. They're solid. Sound good for music and movies. My bed layer is all Klipsch Reference Premiere, so I think I should have used the "Pro 180 RPW" instead of these to get a better tonal match.

Hi there. If you had to do it again, would you buy these or go with the pro? Also, are you using them in a dedicated theater?

You be amazed how very little difference "matching" overhead atmos speakers to the mains makes.

Yep. Dedicated theater.

These sound great. For a while I had only these hooked up, and we had games, music and movies playing through them and I was honestly thrilled with the way they sound.

We added a bed layer of reference premiere speakers (8000F for mains). During movies, games, and up mixing music with Atmos they're honestly awesome. For anything "real world", they're perfect.

However, if I do a tone test, playing the same note or frequency around the room in individual speakers, I can detect a slight tone difference between these and my 8000F. In real use, I literally can't notice. Maybe somebody with better ears could. (nobody I've ever had over has said anything)

If you placed identical speaker drivers all around a room, due to each speaker's acoustical space (on a wall/ceiling, close to a corner, farther away from the wall -such as in a bookshelf or tower speaker, etc) they will all have a different tone/character. That's why it's not so important to "match" overhead speakers to your mains.

Hello. I have the rp series, i think it was 450c, 280f, 250 rears. I literally just received 4 of these from Amazon today. Sounds like you're saying not much of a difference between these and the pros?

I can't say for these speakers. I haven't listened to them. I can't say one is "better" than the other. I'm saying because of their positioning and the processed signal they get vs the main speakers, they don't have to be a "match" in so far as their "sound". They just shouldn't be vastly different sounding than the mains. If the cutout is the same, I'd go with the cheaper model. You can always upgrade later if you feel the need. I think you'll likely be satisfied though

I have a similar setup as yours except for mine are Klipsch RP-8000F and RP504C. I have used cheaper Klipsch in-ceiling speakers for the surround in the front and the back; and have also experimented with JBL 61Cs with not much difference at all (as far as I can perceive) as majority of the sound comes from the Center, Front Left and Front Right speakers...the surrounds get activated only on some of the Dolby Atmos sounds. I have paired this with an SVS PB12-NSD subwoofer and my house rattles especially during those atmos sounds. Hope this helps!!!

I am trying to do new setup, Can you recommend if these are too big for 7.2? Want to do 4 in ceiling for atmos? I initially thought of going with 6 inch. These are 8 inch speakers

I bought the 5800 this year for my living room and I am really happy with the sound. The post is for a sale from a non-authorized dealer, so you will not get the manufacturer warranty, I waited for a sale from an authorized dealer, and paid just a little more per speaker, but it was worth it for me to get a warranty. Authorized dealers are at the following URL:

https://www.klipsch.com/authorize...ne-dealers

Sound Distributors who is an Authorized dealer is selling a pair of 5800 for $360 (180 each) on amazon as well, though you will need to purchase a pair.

I have 10 of these is two different home theater setups and I can say that they work great as atmos height speakers.

Hate to be the one upper but I own 18 of them as part of multiple systems. They are a very good value at current price.
