ABSOLUTE F*ING life changer!!! I LOVE my S7 MaxV Ultra. We have mostly hard floor with some sections of area rugs and it's amazing how this thing can manage to clean up everything. We have 3 cats, a bird, and a dog and I truly regret not getting this sooner. Now I only wish some of the refills go on sale as I am soon up for some replacements. The obstacle avoidance is impressive, and we also enjoy using it as a spy cam to watch our kitties when we're away. It's kinda hypnotic to just look at the camera stream when it's cleaning. The one thing I will mention though is that the dirty water tank does smell rank when you open it, so if you are disgusted by the thought of practically sewage sitting in that dock, you might want to clean the tank more often that when it's full.

Your comment is not helpful. What do you expect? Most of the products are made in China anyway.

And it's a vacuum, you worry on Chinese people knowing the map and layout of your house and how frequent you use the vacuum? Same thing will happen if this products is made in the US, US companies will also track the same data.

IMHO, i think this is not the best deal given it's call the Black Friday deals.

The discounted pricing is basically the same as past deals we have seen here. It's a shame, i was waiting to see the S7 MaxV Ultra, but it's still very pricey.

it's all about price VS value. this category of swiss knife is new, and therefor you are paying the premium price for the novelty and taking the risk, because many iterations of improvement are ahead in the future. just like the regular robo vac had several improvements over the year to finally arrive at a point where they can be had for < $200 with all the bells and whistles.

the point is very simple. the best time to get an electric car is not when only Tesla is making them, but when everyone is making them (significant technology improvement, much lower risk, and better price due to competition). that is unless you like novelty and risks . . .
Wrong. The best time to get Tesla was when price was on sale like in 2021 (Model Y 51k) AND it fit what you are looking for. You can always wait, and wait, and wait like waiting for iPhone 20 because there's always something new and better, but that has nothing to do how good this deal is. How many years have robo vac on the market? You said regular robo vac can be had for <$200, sure but if you are looking for one with LiDAR, useful AI that can map correctly and do object avoidance, self empty …etc you are still looking for $400-$500+ range. Technology doesn't always bring down the price. Buy when you need, and at this time this price for Ultra is a good deal.

A vacuum is not a car so the value vs price proposition can't really be compared.

With a car, it's point it to get one from point A to point B. One can buy any type of engine or motor to accomplish that.

What's the alternative to a robot vacuum? Doing it oneself? A cleaning service? Both alternatives are much more expensive for a lot of people. They're at a point now that saves people time and, at least indirectly, money.
sure it is: terrain, speed, risk . . .

one selects a transportation per the requirement (lowest cost per value), it could be a car or a train, within each category you have different features. robot vacuums have different features too (requirements).

and yes, I do agree that for majority of people a good handheld vacuum would give them the biggest bang for their $, and that is because their time is not as valuable as they think it is. but we all want to automate our tasks so that we do not have to do them, but instead we just occupy our time with something else that is useless.

Was initially looking for a robot vacuum around the $500 point this black friday. Was gearing towards the Q7, but after reading all the reviews and watching youtube videos, took the plunge and got the S7 Ultra top of the line. The return period until Jan 31 was the tipping point that made me decide on it. We have over 60 days to try it and see it if works, and can always turn back if it isnt what were looking for. We will also dial back on our cleaning lady to make it worth it, we pay $140 a month for cleaning, and can have her come every 6-8 weeks. Its mostly the sink, bathtub, countertops, etc that we will need the cleaning lady.

My only concern is that a better model will always come out, and dont want to be obsolete later on. Doing research looking like hopefully this that ultimate robot vacuum and will not get obsolete in at least 2-3 years.

you argument is predicated on brand. my argument is based on price per value. i do not value brands, all that i care about is what I am getting for the $.

i do not see Tesla adding significant value for the price in contrast to what the competition has to offer (this is just my take). and I do not need to wait indefinably because when the technology is ready the price will be right. the EV market is just not ready, that is why Toyota is not jumping in . . . .

going back to your point about LiDAR . . . technology is progressive, new shiny things are constantly added to add real or perceived value. one must always understand the "need" from the "want", else they will be in the never ending chase trying to plug the void.

LiDAR is relatively new in the context of vacuum, as more competitors include the technology in order to be competitive the price will come down. take for example the cost of a smartphone, the truth is that from the hardware stand point a $100-200 phone can do what 90% of folks need. you can gravitate to a +$1K phone, and use mental gymnastics to justify the need, but the reality is that it's probably a "want".

https://youtu.be/Nt1KwfEPoEI for your question posed.

While it definitely slows things down, the fact that the Dreame goes back to the dock to clean the mop heads and refill the bots water bin periodically means you'll end up with less dirty water dragging.

Thanks! I literally just watched that video this morning. Looks like the X1 is going back.

EV is not ready? Says who? Toyota? And you wonder why their sales are going down quarter and quarter.
Buy whatever you like and see as value. You are not the early adapter type or one who likes to get the latest technology. That is perfectly ok. But that has nothing to do with this deal/sale. Can you find a better all-in-one vacuum / mopper with top end vacuum capability and self empty and self clean for $1059? If yes, please show a viable alternative, if not, then this is a good deal.

this is the delta in semantics:

to you it would be an SD if they added a cat toy to it for additional $800, because after-all one would not be able to find a robo vac/mop cat toy at lower price than $1860.

to me it's an overpriced new cool looking swiss knife.

If you have a Chase Freedom CC and shop through Chase.com, it's offering 5 points per dollar at Best Buy for this. About $50 back for ~$1000 purchase.

S series. Also depends what features you want and don't want. If you don't care about object avoidance via a camera or mopping go with q series otherwise s is better

Can anyone who already has the Ultra model confirm if it only accepts 110V or also 220V? Thanks

The S7 MaxV Ultra is just amazing. I was one of the first to get hands on it, while the sale was done based on a wait list. So I had enough chance to use it and test out the functionalities.

I had it vacuum and mop the 1100 sqft hardwood floor of my home every singe day at 6, on a schedule. Worked just perfect. I had to empty the dirty water tank and fill the clean water tank every 4 days, which was the only inconvenience. Still way better than anything else out there. Realistically you don't have to mop every day, but I have a toddler who meticulously picks all dirt from the floor and sometimes even kiss the floor, which is why I do it daily. The dust bag took 4 months to get full. Obstacle avoidance is really impressive and they send regular OTA updates. It has too many features included for the price and is a steal for ~$1000
