I assume the timer is just for powering off the lights not on, so you need to manually switch on each piece. Seems pretty tedious to do every time.

Yeah it was a pain so I ended up running some LED fairy string lights and it worked perfectly. I used some cotton stuffing as my snow so the cords were hidden and the extra lights gave it a nice ambience.

Looks like the coupon is no longer working online. Someone must have caught on. I guess you can try it in store and see if they'll honor the coupon, but if not IMO it's still worth it at $30.
