Every time I've ever tried to book an NCL cruise with one of these offers, the price looks great until you see the final checkout total - where it's literally twice the price of what you thought it was going to be lol.

The cruise I booked for summer 2023 advertise this offer but it doesn't price it out at checkout. Checked a few other European cruise with no luck either

Lol 699 Alaska cruise somehow became 3200 at checkout. That said all inclusive for 4 with airfare and 7 night cruise, not a bad deal

Well, it is nothing but a scam. If you see a trip with $700 with second guest free. Don't calculate as you will pay $700 in total. They did it for you already - this is the price for half of your body, not your full body. If you check out, it is still $1400 for two persons with 2nd guest free (yeah!). Plus outrageous service fees not discounted for two.

Total waste of time

I've noticed with the "free at sea" they 100% recoup the "free" with their ridiculous service charges. I priced a cruise for two with free bar, except it was $635 for bar services charges lol

Everyone complaining about the process, a few notes:
- prices that it shows per cruise are per person taking into account the free people.
- gratuity and taxes will be extra. Taxes due at checkout. Gratuity due during the end of the cruise.
Some selections already at open bar and specialty dining. Those can be removed which saves on the automatically added gratuity. The gratuity for those are due at the time of purchase.
All said, this is a decent deal, but I feel like some of the end rates per person are as expected. Anytime there's the option for balcony prices in the $500 range, it's a pretty good deal on week long cruises.

This is one of NCL's better promotions. They often have 35% and 40% off but 50% is a good deal along with their free at sea offers.
Cabins are always quoted double occupancy. Industry standard. Solo cabins are available.
Gratuities are the life blood of the service teams. Don't short change them.
In case someone overlooks it, bar service costs more for longer cruises. You drink more. Shocker. Typical single cocktail is $12-15 each at the bar. Not uncommon for a cocktail at any restaurant. The free drink package can be removed for further discounts but you need to be a light drinker on the ship to see any benefit.

I have no problem with the final price per se; I don't think it is outrageously expensive. What I have problem with is how they advertise it. If you see B1G1 ads for $10, do you expect to pay $20 for two. Do you feel okay if you see ads telling you something cost $500 and charge you $2000 at the end?

If you say it is totally fine, then i apologize for my ranting

Ncl has some of the worst marketing scams. I hope someone sues them and wins to put an end to it. Very misleading…

Deal looked awesome to start with:

Started with searching $759 Alaska cruise somewhere in August,
Went all the way to check out and Didn't select anything extra except for the airport.

Final price for 2 is now $6134.40

Now, that's a lot or a loooooot for 2 travelers. That's why I don't trust these advertised cruise prices

What they do is bouble the price and then tell you that you are getting half off.

Not saying there may not be some deals BUT all the cruises I was watching haven't changed bottom line price in the last 2-3 weeks even though they change the wording of the sale (this one included) every few days.........FYI, if you get the BOGO air deal included you can call and have the "Ground Transportation" charges removed - those are not required and are just a slow bus transport whereas Uber/ Taxi will be quicker and likely cheaper if more than one person.

My parents just went on an NCL cruise and I had to handle everything for them beforehand and let me say, NCL is completely disorganized and wastes your time. Canceled flights, incorrect names, incorrect flights (they had my dad flying from lihie Hawaii to LAX and then from LAX to Switzerland and then to Venice. He lives by LAX). I've spent so many hours on the phone with them that they knew my name.

After that experience, I vowed to never ever go on an NCL cruise and to make sure I tell everyone so they can avoid the headache and stress they caused us.

So it seems people may want to avoid booking flights through NCL. How was the cruise itself though?

They were on the Norwegian Gem. Told me it was pretty outdated and they thought everything would be a little nicer than Royal Caribbean but it wasn't. Food was very unspectacular. I did upgrade them a couple of days before their cruise for $150 ea. and I'd say it was worth it because they got XO and VSOP plus Starbucks and waters so I'm pretty sure they got their money's worth just from alcohol lol.
